well we were planning on leaving today but things dont seem to go according to plan ...we have had to go out and buy a new roof rack for the car so that wasnt cheap let me tell you ...but hey ho we are gettting into ready mode now and will be going tomorrow early ..

I.S.O.M hope you keep those feet up and rest i read you were in hospital ...

sorry bob i seem to have taken over your diary ...think mine is boring me again lol
  • Welll so long as you manage to go, i know all about roof racks we kept buying new rack bits for on top box, as gutters would change when bought new car! Bloomin fortune they are, and funnily enough they never seem to adapt like they used to if you buy a different model..sneaky sods!

Take over any time, i am just bored out of my skull at the moment. Mr.B was supposed to have day off, then had to go in said he would be finished at dinnertime and he walked in 20 mins ago..not very happy i can tell you as had a nice day planned with kids in celebration for their achievements and they are in sulk mode now! And weather has changed..PAH!

Bob - congrats to DD - great result!

Thanks Miz, i think the statement you made helped her ( about your neice) she is always noseying in here and thought about it. Rang a theatre director up ( volunteers in a local theatre) And got some advice off her..marched into college and basically got the course she wanted..which would help her long term. She has also arranged some auditions and is buzzing about it all..oh and did i mention they go on trips?:o

Paris and New York apparently..booger:eek: Well this clinched it for her, and i will find the money some how as her brother and sister went on the trips and i really feel that she should as well.

  • Right i seem to have gotten myself into a mode over the hols and can honestly say i am not as focused as i should be.
So i need to make a start and set myself some more goals.

Pay off and get balance for my car..so far this year i have been making payments of £160 per month, £12 insurance and about £10-£20 in petrol.( No Mot's at mo, service once a year)So an expensive car at moment. Some months, petrol is up if working beyond a 10 mile radius and also if DD2 has hospital appts.
I do have a reason for keeping the car, mainly for jobs and also for Emergencies for DD2..i have had cheap cars in past and they seem to have been in the garage more times than not! One car cost me over £800 in repairs once, which was over a year..saying that it was cheaper than current car, but was unable to use on two frightening emergencies i had..so defo had to go..i am very frightened of not having a reliable car!

So that is my target before Christmas..I reckon i am looking at clearing £3000 as have paid two years off already.

Next are a couple of little targets..Mr.B's petrol money card..this is £500, and then another of Mr.B's cards finishes its 0% in November, not sure of the amount as he has been paying it..and we did have an agreement to keep things like that, but stuff annoys me if not sorted and it then comes out of monthly budget..If that makes sense? So will maybe have to tackle his 0 % first then look at my car.

So i don't know which order to do things in! I am off to snowball calculator to see if it makes a difference!

Sounds like a plan to me, Bob - it seems to make such a difference when a big chunk gets paid off - just been reading about hypno and the £300 less on minimum payments she has to find - how that can go on overpayments now, or give them some stretch room. Brilliant. And congratulations to DD! I'm pleased for you and her that she's buzzing again.

Morning Bob ! Reading about your budgetting for cars, something occured to me when you mentioned them some time ago. Would it be more economical if Mr Bob used the smaller car for work ? Hope I'm not speaking out of turn. XX Miggy

  • We have thought about it young Miggy! Call me selfish, but last time he had my car, i never saw it again! That was an estate though....

He also has a lot of mileage to cover.......but if i work further afield so do i at times! I think he needs to investigate the train option as he is more or less static in an office, bar trips to Birmingham, once a month!
