They look good Bob, maybe I should take a picky of....my brambles???

I'm now feeling the urge to grow something edible but just hate gardening. maybe when I'm a rich lady of leisure...

  • I have to confess to having the odd bramble in my front garden..I am waiting some fruit off it before i ruthlessly hack it back!...

in my defence the brambles are behind the garden shed and hidden from view - I like to think I'm doing my bit for biodiversity and all that! although I think DS nabs them as soon as they're ripe before the birds get a look in.:D
Apple and bramble crumble is appealing to me at the minute though...

Apple and blackberry.... I have a self sown apple tree in the front garden (also called a volunteer, which I like!) and loads and loads of brambles in the back.... I think I'm going to have a bit of stewed fruit very very soon. I wonder how well that goes with courgettes....

  • I wish i had an apple tree, have been looking enviously at some..sigh. As for going with courgettes, hmm you could make muffins out of them all, apple muffins, blackberry muffins and courgette muffins..yum!

  • Morning..oops afternoon folks!

Well is a bit of a powder keg in the BOB household this week. Teenagers and courses *gulp*

Had some brill news about DS1, he did a three hour genesys test yesterday for an apprenticeship with our local council...passed with flying colours and has his interview next week..although not sure whether it is more of an induction meeting as they are emailing loads of stuff out to him.

DD2 is up in the air about her course, as she passed but needed a merit or distinction for the next level..Btec performing arts. She has had a hard year, doing all of this with her diabetes and other problems..and the only thing which let her down was dance..she is pretty gutted as it is all she ever wanted to do.
Her course which she has been accepted on is for beauty, she is also doing a lot of amateur theatre work...so maybe she could combine the two..I don't know what else to suggest to her, as all the other local colleges seem to operate a similar criteria.

Already said this over on my course but well done to DS!!

That's a real shame about DD, am sure there will be ways to do what she wants, does she want to be a performer? Beauty could be good to do, I know some colleges do stage/ film make-up which could be a good skill to combine with the theatre work. I really hope it works out for her.
