  • Hi peb,( don't apologise) hotel up and running, but apparently beset with problems. My friend's daughter works there ( summer temp) and has told me all the tales..the top floor is so noisy from the wind that it sounds like an airplane taking off and people have been checking out at 2am in the morning because of it, the management is poor and havent got a proper booking system in place. The key system went down and only two skelton keys worked for the whole of the hotel and the list goes on! You get all these lovely amenities for the grand price of about £120 per night basic, rising i think to about £300 for the aircraft hanger..wanna go?

We had a lovely meal at the Hest Bank pub and thouroughly made pigs of ourselves..so will probably be awake digesting said grub..(still part of hols budget so i consider it a perk!)

Cake foraging stuff a disaster so will be on the market looking for a ribbon or three..i hate this bit, as i want the cake to look right but not too OTT!

Other than that will have to get my skates on tomorrow and not be distracted by things..such as MSE and loverly diaries...well just one more.

Oo and beanie, my mate had her Radley purse tonight and has informed of a half price shop in Lancaster with the new purses the ones with butterflies! mm
Also David essex has held her purse when signing autograph so extra collectable.

Morning Bob, sounds like you had a good day! Interesting to hear about the hotel, I was thinking about treating OH to a couple of nights there (we've been to Morecambe a few times and heard about it being rebuilt) but maybe not.. "Surprise! I've got us a weekend in a cr*p hotel!".. nah, we've had plenty of them already :rotfl:

Good luck with the cake mission x

  • Hi all have been scurrying around ny fav shop in Southport today ( cake making shop!) And have been on final stages ..i always feel like i am giving birth when i make a cake..you know the one three stages and lots of screaming, well i am at the final push stage...
so hopefully tomorrow i will have put the monster to bed and that's it.. apart from worrying about setting it up and the usual afterwards..
I was so mad at the cake before, i thought i was just going to bash my head in it and then it would have been a version of the Turin shroud! It's my own fault i am too fussy about what goes on it, and i called the cake making troops in today..as in my neighbour/friend and we figured out the nitty gritty together..simply because i had had no remit as to what she wanted..leaves all the ideas to us, just hope she likes it in the end...see i will worry all the way through the wedding.

    so list today..
    finish cake
put some dye on my roots..can't go looking like an old bag
    buy some tights
put feet up and sigh with relief...........

Hope you all have a good one, and will try and catch up on Sunday..may even post a piccie or two of the cake! If i haven't thrown it at the wall in a fit of madness..*gulp*

Bob is the wedding tomorrow (Sat) then ? Are you invited, or only the cake ? :D . I just know that the cake will be absolutely gorgeous, a piccie when you've finished please ? My Mum will be 80 tomorrow, have volunteered to do a buffet at her house, but will cheat with M&S stuff ;) . Catch up soon. XX
