hiya, ive joined up with ebico and my gas has reduced by almost half ie bg was 6.7, ebico 3,6...i should point out im on a pay as you go meter ...

BG only charge 3.19p per kWh (after the initial 670kWh per quarter which are charged at 6.94p/kWh) compared to the Ebico rate of 3.675p.

But you may need to factor in quarterly usage and IGT additions on other providers,
    Nothing to see here

Neither BG nor Ebico charge any extra for those gas customers supplied by an IGT.

Sorry I meant others such as EDF etc. I wouldn't touch BG, I hate them, every time I have been with them their staff are useless and their service appalling.
Anyway The BG service charge taper (670kwh @ A unit tarrif) works out as £46 over the 3 months (£25 additional over B rate) and equals using double that from Ebico (1265kwh of gas in 3 months or 115 cubic metres which is a fair bit in the summer for most people. I am considering switching from them in a month or two when the warmer weather ends.
I could try to work out where the breakeven point would be but frankly I can't be bothered

Consumer Focus in their regular comparison updates continue to tell me that Ebico is top of the charts for low users. If what they say is true, then Energyhelpline etc are way out in saying that I can save, say £100 , by going to Scottish Power. Probably something to do with always being on Tier 1 rates with SP etc , more so with electricity.

Also the discounts SP give for dual fuel and payment by DD?

If you are using that little energy, perhaps the £150 (£100 + £50) prompt payment discount per year, paid quarterly pro-rata (guaranteed if you pay quarterly by DD) may mean SP are cheaper.
