Free £5 M&S Voucher

*Board Guide Edit: Prudential Healthcare have removed this offer from their website and are informing callers that the offer has now closed*

What this is all about?

Get a quote from Prudential healthcare for health insurance and they will give you a £5 Marks & Spencer voucher. Literally that's it, you do not have to get the policy out to get the £5. Thus it's free.

What's the catch?

There isn't really one, this is one of those "they're trying to sell to us, we manipulate the terms and conditions" type things. Of course they may try and kaibosh it once they realise I've put it in my email to over 300,000 people, but hopefully lots of people will get through by then.

The only real risk here is that they may start to send you junk mail once you've done a quote, asking you if you 'want to sign up'. Also it'll take about 10 mins to do the quote.

There are a few terms: Only one voucher per household; Vouchers will only be issued on completeion of a full quote; Vouchers will be sent direct to your home address.

Is the policy any good?

Well that depends on the individual - but usually its an expensive policy and i wouldnt go near. If you are looking for private medical insurance see my quick briefing on PMI

Can i do it online?

No you must do it on the phone Call: 0800 092 6666 and quote the refernce ECOM07.

Yet its worth checking the offers still the same terms on the Pruhealth website before hand you'll see the offer on the bottom right. If you can't see it then, check the discussion below to see if it's been cancelled.. Just call the above number and quote

Martin

Update Note

Well the email tip has now been sent and the call centre is jammed up. They are obviously getting wise to this. Then again its promise is simple "get a quote and we'll give you £5", it's their attempt to cheaply bribe people to get an expensive policy, hence they deserve all they get.

The following comment from later in discussion is very useful "If you go for it, don't mention the voucher until the very end. It's just taken me 3 go's. The first time I mentioned that the voucher at the beginning only to be told that the computer system was down. The next attempt I mentioned it in the middle and mysteriously the system immediately went down. The third attempt was successful because I mentioned it as an add-on at the very last breath of the conversation... good luck!"

Note to regulars: I am aware this info is available in another thread with another offer, yet i wanted to start a new one as its going from the tip and i needed for detailed explanation.

Seems a lot of effort calling on the phone for £5. I will only end up losing because my wife will spend £50 using the £5 off voucher. :rotfl:

I have got a feeling that they are going to have lots of calls now that it is at the top of the weekly newsletter.

I rang up and they had system problems but they phoned me straight back.

    Voucher on route.

They did ask me where I had seen them advertised. I simply said a paper and they seemed to accept that.

  • Well, they're still taking quotes as of 2 minutes ago. Looking forward to my voucher in about a week, they said.

    Cheers! :)
