I do make up for those small extravagances though by buying value beans/tomatoes and all that sort of stuff though ;)

Lots of eggs being sold today :) Also Eggs are nice with mashed up potato's :)
  • Prices are based on Asda/Lidls mainly. Ive cut back so much though. I used to be an M&S and Waitrose exclusive shopping snob, spending between £80-£150 a week for me, OH & DD
Prices of mince are half a frozen 500g bag (£1.31 divided in half) Chicken is a cheapie frozen (£1.97-not organic im afraid :o )veg prices are based on fresh bigger bags then divided for meals etc, tinned food are value products, sausages are Adsa pork (88p for 8-again not organic) potatoe prices are for a big bag then divided for meals.

I find this way of working out costs is easier for me. Im quite sad that I break everything down but it makes the difference to my bank account at the end of the month :D I feel we eat very well. I buy organic whenever possible (normally reduced and buy loads to freeze) and do use local butchers sometimes. We are getting chickens hopefully in November

Spaghetti carbonara? You just need some eggs, bacon, spaghetti, bit of cheese and some cream and loads of pepper. Really tasty (not so great if you are on a diet tough!).

I'm having a chicken curry of some sort tonight. Got a dollop of C_Q's base defrosted, a whole chicken in the slow cooker, so I've just got to decide which of the many yummy choices I fancy the most...

    ..yum!! :)
