Erm... then the median average is about the same as the "UK average" (also, presumably a median), meaning that your readers are a good sample of the UK population. The mean is never a very good average to use when talking about average incomes, because it's so obviously skewed by the (relatively) small number of very, very high-earners. Incidentally, the modal range is £15000-£20000...

i have to say, i am rather surprised that anyone earning over 100k bothers to read this weekly email. Surely your time would be worth more than trying to save a few pounds here and there.

Perhaps some high earners could enlighten me?

I earn around 25k and am very careful with my money, too much so probably as I often miss out (socially) because I don't want to spend. I'd love to be in a position where my income is great enough so I only had to think of the big picture and not worry about day to day incidental expenditure.

Band D, but doing a part time degree, so hopefully that will change over the next 10 years or so (started OU in Nov 06).

I'm glad to have found this website because I'm poorer than I was 3 years ago and there is a lot of great advice here.

If I hadn't become ill, I would be on band 'H' now, instead I've slumped to band 'D'.

I have a fairly good occupational pension, DLA, CTC but greatly reduced IB.

I changed bank accounts after reading about higher interest rates on here, so that's been a big help to me.

I visit every day because there's always great tips.
