I was having problems with logging on and loading windows recently.
When I installed SP3 it has resolved all these problems, to see your system go to Start> My Computer>View system information, that will tell you which service pack you have.
Windows XP
Media Centre Edition
Version 2002
Service pack 2
I did a system restore this morning to April 2008.0 -

Hi Superscraper,
I have followed your problems, via your posts on here, regarding SP3, and I have not yet installed this latest update until I know it will be as safe as it can be, to install it.
I have a Dell Dimension 1100 PC which is about 3 years old and I also have an Acer Lappy which is about 2 years old.
Do you think I will have a problem with SP3 on either of these machines?
Cheers

the main problems with SP3 are with Hp/Compaq PC's (but mine is an HP and works fine with SP3)
I would do the updatesEx forum ambassador

Dells are prone to it but only with an AMD processor. Yours has an intel so my particular problem I had won't apply to you. Not heard of any significant problems for systems with Intel chips. Don't know about your Acer though without knowing the model and hence the processor. But I was unlucky, even if you do have an AMD processor in your laptop doesn't necessarily mean you'll get the problem and in fact most likely you won't anyway."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

And mine is neither Hp nor a Compaq.Just a normal self build using Microsoft OEM Windows.
