A&L card BT Charges? Virgin off BestBT List...

A&L card details on thier own site, say they MAY charge a BT fee, altho it is capped at £35.
Anyone applied recently and had any BT charge applied? I know you have to BT on application, just wondering if this is the one to go for after reading of the Virgin dodginess with DD's and I see the Virgin card seems to have disappeared off Martin's Best BT card list....I was about to apply this week to Virgin, wondering should I try A&L instead even tho BT charge is made.
Is there any card that will do 9 mths 0% with no BT charge, and maybe SBT's too? or is this just too much to ask for any more??

As far as I know, all MBNA and sub cards are now applying the BT fee. Only A&L are capping at £35 - the rest are £50.
Much talk recently about MBNA card holders receiving changes to T&C's with a new "money transfer" category which classes SBT's differently to BT's with regard to interest rate.
Only 2 free SBT cards these days...
* Mint - via their cheques after 3 months on their 9 month card. If you want to use the cheques on account opening, they'll charge you 2% - capped at £40.
* Egg Money - see numerous threads on here and a complete guide on https://www.stoozing.com0 -

I took out a Virgin credit card last month and made a BT on 07/09/05 and I have not been charged the 2% fee.Newlywed & skint!0 -
Wow I was just about to start a new thread (will do it anyway.)
I applied successfully over the net and gave all my BT's to be done. Today I got my Credit agreement and rang to ask if I had to list them all again. I was told that they charge 2% for BT's unless it is done through a branch. Internet applications are liable to charges.

My new T&Cs for A&L state that they will charge a fee (as opposed ot may), and the maximum BT fee is £50.
It also includes the new money transfer blurb 0 -
