A&L. I did the application over the internet giving my requested BT's and they are charging me. They told me BT's will be charged for unless the application is done in a branch.
It's quite important - Martin's article is wrong (or at least missing this info).

To be fair I didnt whinge hard enough - I am saving that for later! But they said it was clearly on the front page of the webpage that they MAY charge a feee. For MAY please read DO!"Life is like a game of cards. MBNA have been slowly bringing all their cards into line, to get away from the "MAY charge" ambiguities.
So all those who previosly managed to find terms whereby they could get away from paying fees, will now no longer get freebies. (w.e.f. 1st Sept. all their MBNA managed cards conditions state WILL charge).
Complaining does'nt always pay.

I assume you are referring to the T&C's on the reverse of the credit card agreement they send you, because condition 2c on the A&L website T&C's still states...dc wrote:(w.e.f. 1st Sept. all their MBNA managed cards conditions state WILL charge).
"2c We may charge a handling fee for balance transfers. We will charge a handling fee for all cheque transactions and cash transactions. All handling fees will be 2% of the amount of each transaction, and will be at least £2. For cheque transactions and balance transfers the handling fee will be no more than £35. There will be no maximum handling fee for cash transactions. We will charge an annual fee of £0."0 -
YorkshireBoy, please see here about a phonecall I had with them this morning.

DC, nope, but sometimes it does....I'm still v happy with my Barclaycard 0% deal clinched after the closing date because I successfully argued their T&C's were ambiguous and unclear - which they were. Got the deal, saved a packet with the 0% for life of balance offer, which I fear we may never see again. Which I why I held out and made the phonecall.Bless Martin's Little Cotton Socks.
