Do they charge a fee for balance transfers on application?
The article by Martin syas they don't, but the A&L website says they might. Has anyone who has applied in the past few weeks been charged or not?
Also, are they generous with credit limits?

http://www.stoozing.com/0fees.htm does not have this card in the table of cards not charging BT fee. It is one of MBNA cards and it looks like all MBNA cards started charging BT fee recently.0

Thanks for the info. Was the only reason for going with that card.
Are the different MBNA brands any different with their generosity on credit limits?0 -
Sorry, did some research for this earlier and forgot to post it!
You'll no doubt have noticed that the A&L summary box says they *will* charge a fee. However, the T&C's say they *might* charge a fee.
The T&C's always overide the summary box which, after all, is just a guide.
However, what overides all the above are the T&C's on your signed credit agreement so, for the definitive answer, I'm afraid you're going to have to apply to find out. You have, though, made one good decision in that the A&L BT fee is the lowest of the MBNA fleet at £35 - most (all?) of the others are capped at £50.
With regard to the credit limits, I believe it is MBNA that set them - not A&L.0 -
Thanks for the info yorkshireboy. It sure is unclear.
My decision at the moment is beween the possible 2% max £35 with A&L, or the 2% un-capped with capital one on their new long 0% offer.0 -
If Cap One give you a £1,800 balance transfer, this will incur a £36 BT fee.ctm wrote:My decision at the moment is beween the possible 2% max £35 with A&L, or the 2% un-capped with capital one on their new long 0% offer.
Also, Cap One repayments are 3%, whereas A&L are £5
Help you make your decision?0 -
Yeah, just been looking at the calculator thingy on stoozing.com, and the cap one card doesn't seem like that good a deal with the uncapped fee and min payments.0
