Apologies as it seemed I got the wrong end of the stick. I thought you meant any thanks post but realise now you meant to avoid bumping.

I agree with you there and am glad this has been put on the daily lists. I know I bumped two - one had a later end date than listed and one was to ask people to take carbon monoxide warning things on holidays with them.

Am I the only one who keeps a written record of virtually every competition entered? It's my backup for the "thanks" button. At the moment my record is an old page-a-day diary. Bought some to use as scrap ruled writing paper but never used them all - think I paid 10p each - bigger than A4 size and they are for 1977!!!! OK, in 2008 the days don't match the dates, no prob!

Don't I sound organized? I'm not really. It's just I have a memory like a sieve at the best of times.

Just to clarify, I personally don't mind if they are bumped from the comps ending thread if either...

A) The end date has been extended

Or

They are already closed


At least it may draw attention to a BG


You can always PM us with that information too, so we can move or change it

I'm with you Nosonddu; until very recently I always kept a written list of everything.

But because I'm short of desk space, and am entering most comps on the internet nowadays and the lists were getting longer, I've had to have a re-think. I made a very basic table in Word with date, comp and OP name, opened a separate window for this, and copy and paste each one over as I enter. It only takes a few seconds, and it doesn't matter whether it's in date order, because you can do a sort afterwards. When the month is over I print off the ones for that month. I do find it easier to trace things now they are in date order.
