I like the spirit here.
I have no problem with people passing comments on threads, that are relevant/funny.
There are places for general chit chat, compers inn and comps discussion.
I just don't see the point in saying thanks, rather than pressing the thanks button. generally people would rather have a higher thanks count:rolleyes:)
I now sort all threads in date order, which means I miss all the bumping, but unfortunately I also miss the comments and chat - lesser of 2 evils for me :rolleyes:Al Mac Appreciation Society (AMAS) member # 6½

some people like to do both as the comp is something they really want/would like to win"Every day when I wake up I thank the Lord I'm Welsh" Cerys Matthews0 -

How do you do this?
Thank you in advance

I've noticed that people tend to say thanks to new posters rather than just press the thanks button. It makes them feel welcome and appreciated. Surely thats not a bad thing?2008 wins £4405 2009 wins £7194 2010 wins £9615
Best wins ever: Laptop, £1000 John Lewis vouchers, PS3, Xbox 360 iPad Mini :beer:0 -

What I think most people object to are the monotonous 'thanks for that' or 'I've entered' posts, which aren't chatty or relevant, but are posted by some people on every comp they enter.
The rule says no pointless bumping of posts, and I find a lot of the thank-you posts are pointless :rolleyes:Al Mac Appreciation Society (AMAS) member # 6½

I hate to be the one to bump this up again, but when I asked about this before, a few people reckoned that people were adding a Thanks post just to get their post count up.......
I'm with Al Mac on this one - use the Thanks button - that's what it's forBest win ever: Trip to the Galapagos Islands in 20100
