Its about finding comps for us all to win..
I think it is to some, not all tbh, but all it takes is a little care and consideration to post a competition.
I've said it before I've been here years now and I have seen people come and go and only a few hardcore stay to the bitter end and persevere with the posting of comps for everyone, its normally the newbies who have a flurry of posting (badly) and entering comps, then get bored and stop altogether.0 -
So, does this sound right from what you have all said:
Use the url without the 'www.', and before the first '/', eg:
timeout.com
not
www.timeout.com/competitions
Use a key word or words, eg: Cyprus, New York, Britney Spears.
Is that right?
I find the title of the comp, eg: Win two return flights to Paris with Flybe! useful as well.
The email address can be useful for email only comps.
The main thing seems to be that you can never rely on a whole url search on its own.
I make a lot fewer mistakes now by doing these things, and agree with the points about thanks made above.
That's my twopennurth.
Oh, and it was a good idea to bring this up, Al Mac.
Two posts in this thread from me = more thanks! :rotfl:Al Mac Appreciation Society No. 188

Methinks also there are some people out there who enjoy telling you it's been posted before, so won't we be taking away their pleasure???Start each day with a smile...When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila and salt, then call me over.
