Glad it's helping! VelvetGlove first mentioned it a few months ago and I got it then - wouldn't be without it now :D

just a daft question (and apologies in advance for not trawling back through posts on here to find original post)

In the discussion re comp ending lists i think it was suggested that you could effectively do your own comp ending list if you did a search for say E: 10/08, so long as we all use that format when posting comps.

Given this useful info I though I would give it a go to try and 'train' me into a better way of doing the comps

However when i put in E: 10/08 in the serach in forum I get that no matches could be found. Obviously I am doing somthing wrong. Any help appreciated

No, nobody has suggested that, although the question gets asked a lot! If you could do a search, then I don't suppose the lists would ever have started. What you can do though, as suggested quite a few times, is to sort the threads by title. This groups all the ones with the same end date together, but only if people have used the correct format. Unfortunately, there are still quite a few people who don't so they won't get grouped in with the others (e10/8 for example instead of E: 10/08) :)

  • Hello I'm new to comping and absolutely pants at it. I've been entering loads of them but not got a sniff yet. I was wondering if anyone uses Competitors Companion magazine and what they thought of it? Also I use myoffers and ukcompetitions websites but what others are there (and how do people rate the ones I do use?). I would like to win at least something.....
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

To be honest I find I have enough competitions on here to keep me going. Im a bit of a moneysaver and dont pay for a competitions magazine when there are so many on here for free

I also find myoffers site very spammy

You will win soon, dont give up, persevere, wins are like buses, none for a while then several at once:D

PS. You will find comping extremely addictive once you get your first win:D

i mainly use this forum for comps, so many to do and there are loads every day:D i also do postal comps, and i get winners friend, simply prizes and my comps( dont know why they keep sending me mags as i cancelled my sub with them, very weird)

Wouldn't bother with my offers, no one ever truly wins from them

It's probably worth having a look through the Comping Guide which is stickied at the top of the board. Among loads of other useful info, there's a list of sites which most of us tend to avoid - MyOffers is probably top of the list!

Good luck with the comping! :)

As an alternative to Cheeky Chickens excellent recommendation for snaplinks.....

When using firefox (it might work in IE, but I've not tried it), if you use the mouse scroll wheel to click on a link it will open it in a new tab (i.e. hover over the link you want to open, press on the scroll wheel, and voila the link will open in a new tab).
You need a '3 button mouse' for this to work, but most mouses(?) are!

I normally go down the page "scroll wheel clicking" on the links and open 6 or 7 tabs at a time.

You can also close the tab by 'scroll wheel clicking" on the tab.
:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j

    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to clear cookies for a specific site (rather than just clearing all cookies)? I'm using IE if that's relevant. Sorry if I'm a bit of a !!!!!!:o

Thanks in advance for any help!
