Al Mac deffo deletes most of his posts. I don't know the exact numbers, but if you ever look at his post count it's something like Posts:2000 Thanked x times in 5000 posts :rotfl:

He even jokes about it. I had a conversation with him in a thread last week, & luckily I quoted him every time, 'cos I've got about 3 posts in a row so I would have looked a right eejit!

He sent me a pm once and I half expected that to self destruct! :rotfl: :rotfl:

  • For what its worth, I like the ending lists.... I think if people are willing to give up their time to compile them, then why stop them? Surely if people don't want to do it, they won't?

It makes things a bit easier for those of us who don't have much time to spend trawling through 200 pages of competitions!

if you search by end date such as E XX/XX as someone suggested it doesnt find the comps you have to go through all 200+ pages to find them all, with work, kids ad life its impossible. i like entering comps but i have a life off the net too and like someone else said if people want to do the lists then whats the problem?
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.

I didn't see anyone suggest you did that

I did see someone suggest that you sort the threads by thread title rather than by last post. that will group *most* of the comps together. For example most of the ones ending on the 8th August are currently on page 149 - 153 if you do that. The only exception are those where the standard format isn't used (E8/8 for example instead of E: 08/08)

I still don't understand why you want to wait until they're about to close before you enter them though - why not just do them as they're posted? That way it doesn't matter if you miss a day here or there, the comps are still open

I do like having the comp ending posts because (like many people) I am very busy and it is helpful for hubbie, who sometimes struggles to follow the forum.

However, I managed before they started and I have recently been making an extra effort to return to my pattern of before they started.

I also, don't like the way that things seemed to have changed since they have been introduced. I have only done 1 comp ending list so do not have as much experience as many but they can take a lot of time. I can imagine it is extremely frustrating to then be moaned at because you have missed a comp. My attitude is that, yes it is annoying if a competition is missed, but surely the amount of competitions that are available far out weigh the 1 or 2 that might be missed.

If losing the list means that there are not so many bad feelings/comments etc. then I think it is a good thing. This forum is supposed to be a fun place and it doesn't feel like that at the moment.
