MasterCard Debit is available, but not here in the UK (yet). But according to a bod at HSBC, they (MasterCard) might be winding down Maestro and using MC-D instead, probably because of the international acceptance factor.

Correct MasterCard Debit will appear as a card very shortly by UK banks. Maestro will then be faded out just like they did with the Switch name

Yes but Visa debit cards are to have the word DEBIT on them to identify them as a debit card.

I know, but your original statement was:-

"MASTERCARD and VISA branded cards are classed as credit card"

    Hi

Have you heard this offically, which banks that currently issue Maestro Card are migrating them to Mastercard Debit? Maestro is a worldwide Mastercard brand and they have do details about this at all.

You may be referring to HSBC Premier MasterCard?
    PIC REMOVED

Are you crazy posting an image of your card without any of the numbers blurred? You do realise that you are unlikely to be covered by HSBC in the case of somebody making a fraudulant payment with your card and it wouldnt be that difficult to guess the card security code and process a payment! My advice remove the image or at least blurr out some of the numbers and your name!

I dont think skyrider would be that stupid to post his card details online, it has got to be an old card that is inactive, he is not that stupid. ;)

That image is from Google and the card is probably fake... no worries lol! I'm not stupid enough and I am no "SHAUN LEE" :rotfl:

P.S. I have edited the image link, would you please delete Shaun Lee's pic of his Premier card from your quote? Thanks Rob

Not aimed at the "normal" man or woman, if you live in the centre of London and have your tea served by a bloke who goes by the name "Jeeves" then maybe.
