No, this one looks like it's designed to be secreted within a wall light for individual control of each light.

Put a long life bulb in the bathroom and leave the light on all night!
We just leave ours on all night plus it an energy saving bulb, But can't see why a bathroom light should be two way. ????????

Has the dome thing in your bathroom just snapped off inside?

  • Hi yorkshire boy.

I was thinking about the original switch that was bought that is remotely operated, but is only one way!

Assuming it is the second switch in a two way lighting system-

If the existing switch was removed from the wall and the common wire was taped up well and then the wire from L1 on the old switch is placed in common on the new switch and the wire from L2 on the old switch was placed in L1 on the new switch, then it would operate as a one way switch wouldn't it?

I'm no electrician like you mate but I think this will work, what do you think?

It's an easy job for an electrician. But then again, so is re-instating/adding a pull switch inside the bathroom. Probably £20/30 for an electrician to do either job as neither fall into Part P controls.

To be honest though, I'd go with re-instating the bathroom pull switch as this remote control thingy is bound to get lost, or fall off the bannister and get damaged.

However, what I'm not prepared to do is tell a complete novice on an internet forum how to do the job (not only because I have a conscience, but because it is banned by the forum rules).
