What pushchair/pram to go for?

Hi All
I am 34 weeks pregnant and we need to decide on a pram pretty sharpish!!
This is my OH favourite http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_417_10751_-1__12337_10001_ which seems to have had good reviews and is a good price but I much prefer this one http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplayA_320+105_10751_-1_14552_53839_10001_14552 - just think the colour is nicer (we don't know what we are having) and the fact it has a car seat is a definite bonus as far as I am concerned.
My OH doesn't like the Cosatto one basically "because it's not a Silver Cross"
Have any of you got any opinions on either of these (good or bad)
Cheers

Hi, and congratulations!
I'm only 20 weeks pregnant and already thinking about prams. It's a real maze isn't it? so many to choose from. I think from my point of view one of the most important things is actually trying it out. My main considerations are:- My partner is tall, so are the handles adjustable?
- I will be travelling quite a bit to see my mum, so is the pram easy to fit in the car?
- I also use a bus quite a bit to get into town, is it easily to travel with?
Anyway, back to your choices..I think that the Silver Cross is an absolute bargain, and if the reviews are anything to go by I think it looks like a great all rounder. It would be great for me when I'm staying over at my mum's or OH's parents. I'm just not that sure on the colour (but is that really that important??).
The second one, the Cosatto, is one that I have been looking at. Very much the 'in thing' at the moment though, but a good idea none the less with the car seat. I do also like the colour!
It really is a maze and I guess only you can decide, good luck

Thanks! It really is a minefield and doesn't help that my OH and I are totally indecisive about everything!! The reviews for the silver cross are really good but I can't help wondering why it's so cheap!!
AArrgghh!!
Good luck with your choices :-)0 -
You need to bear in mind the size of your car, the sort of terrain you're going to be pushing the buggy on and the cost. Also bear in mind that a newborn needs to be able to lie flat. A wrong decision now can cost you hundreds if you have to replace the buggy.
We've got a Mountain Buggy "Urban" for offroading, and a Quinney Zapp for compactness on holiday and around town. We originally bought a Mothercare own brand monster of a buggy, but it was enormous and fell apart when we tried to push it across Chobham Common. That's when we coughed up the money for the Mountain Buggy, which is one of the best there is for off-roading. We took the Quinney on holiday to Florida with us, as it folds up really small.0 -
Before you opt for the Cosatto you need to be that the car seat will fit your car. If you feel you need a car seat that fits on the frame of a pushchair then you should find out which car seats fit in your car first and let that lead your decision. I'm sure you'd agree that there is no point having a car seat if it isn't safe and car seats are far from being universal fitting.
As for the actual pushachairs you need to base the decision on weight and size if you have to lift it in the car (just because they say they are lightweight it doesn't mean they are!), also handle height, if you need a decent shopping basket, whether it's suitable from birth etc. You could just opt for a sling for the first few months and save yourself a fortune. You can buy a sling suitable from birth to 4 years for about £50. Look here http://slingjax.co.uk/catalog.php?category=290 -
I love the silver cross but not those colours. I love the fact that it can face pusher. Think next time round we will get a bugaboo.0

Thanks everyone!
We don't have a car so the car seat is really for the occassional trips with the grandparents - both sets have different cars - how would I find out what seat fitted in their cars??
I do like the idea of using the carseat as a mini push chair with the cosatto though (even though it might seem like a waste of money compared to the Silver Cross)
Why can't I make a decision!!!0 -
If it were me i'd go with the cosato one - how cute! the other one i'm sure is good - not as pretty and i don't think folds up as small as cosatto - but then that is what I would look for in a pram - you may not? Also, i have a loola which had a pram part/carrycot much like the silvercross and found i used it about 5 mins as i didn't want her to associate night time sleeping with being out in the pram (make sense??) and found it much easier to use the car seat part on the chassis when out and about. Just make sure they're not in it too long tho. Good luck!!0

I would have to agree with your husband, I prefer the Silver Cross one.
Can you not go and try them both out first?
Good luck with the little one when s/he arrives

I have the silver cross one, but mine is in blossom which is a pink check. It is fantastic in every sense, the wheels are big enough to cope with gravel etc etc and also the haldle has several heights all at the click of 2 buttons. I can't rate the silver cross enough!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
