thank you for all your replies
i will be getting in touch with womens aid on her behalf to find out as much info as i can about what they can do to help her. i agree with the poster that said she needs to get out of the area- the one thing that worries me about that is her being 'too isolated' but i think that if she can get away she will be able to breathe for a while and will realize that everything is not her fault.
overthetop i totally agree with you. since the social worker told her that she is too scared to call the police and under no circumstances will she get in touch with social services for 'help'.
i would have her to stay here in a second but it is the first place he would look for her.
thank you to the person who gave advice re her dog as well- i know she would do nothing until the dog was sorted for fear of him taking his anger out on him- at least i can tell her that the dog will be looked after for her till she can reclaim him
as i said, i think womens aid is the main one to help- i will be calling them when i go out shopping (no house phone)
thank you all again2011- new year, new start.
