Bought some Sunday, had to go to the Co-Op it was £2.65 for 3 litre bottle (88.3p/l).
the price of veg oil has more to do with the fact lots of people are putting it in their (older diesel) cars , so has to be near the price of diesel or they sell out .
you can legally use over 1000 litres now without prosecution .0 -

Yeah, know a few people who have old diesel cars for the use of veg oil, have done for a few years. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Think you will find that it is exactly 2500 litres you can use per year before duty is due.

another thing to consider with the cost of food going up is a lot of farmers have stopped growing cereal crops like wheat and are now growing things like rape seed to produce oil for bio fuels,
so there is a shortage of wheat and corn and those type of crops which forces the price up,
also EU quota systems are forcing the price of things to stay artificially high,0 -
so, with the supermarkets wanting to take our trousers down before the hard times arrive, and the government pressing on with spending OUR money like it's goping out of fashion, shouldn't we take a leaf out of the book of our grandparents and start to dig for victory.
Only this time it's against the big businesses and government with their snouts in OUR troughs.
or is it just me?0 -

I have a small garden but am making it work
I just purchased myself a semi dwarf , self fertalising "VICTORIA PLUM TREE"
it says its a very heavy cropper , and that I may have to support the branches due to the weight of the plums ,lol.
I think this is the way to go.
I also have a cherry tree called "Stella" for sweet eating cherries.
And a dwarf apple tree.
Grow tomatoes and my lettace (pick and come again) in tubs.
I am cancelling my milkman at 58p a pint:eek:Kindness costs nothing0
