Hi,
One of my relatives did this yesterday for his house, when he phoned up on behalf of someone else they said it was not available anymore.
He was told he had been missold this product and that when they came to process his application it would be rejected!!
Just thought people might want to double check their tariff/phone them!![0 -
Also for consideration is that there is no tie-in on this therefore if prices come down you can still switch

I phoned and got onto the fixed yesterday. Had only just switched from Scottish Power and said that i had received a letter about the fixed rate and she said i could go back to them onto the fixed tariff.
She seemed to say that because i had received a letter i could go on to the tariff. So anyone thinking about it could try and say they have received a letter??
It works out more pricey for me at the moment, but seeing as the news is reporting of increases in gas prices of 25% over the next few weeks, fingers crossed it will pay off.0 -

just tried today (thursday) and they said deal finished on friday but there will be another one soon maybe next week.0

I signed up yesterday evening around 20.30 - I wasn't sure they would still be open, but I called and got straight through...
I am switching to the fixed til 2011 deal from my current supplier EON.
There was no indication of the 2011 deal being closed or ending.
I only wish I switched when I could use Quidco to switch online...0 -

I agree - although when I thought about it - I was happy to forgo the Quidco Potential cashback for the savings I would be making on the SP Fixed to 2011 deal.
The other point that swayed me was the no-tie on the deal either.
We actually had a door-2-door salesman round last week offering the product. At the time I was rather busy doing other things, but retained the paperwork. When I called SP to signup for the deal I double checked the tarrif rate matched the paperwork I had - they did.0 -
Ditto on the Quidco - I am usually very 'tight' where it comes to saving/making money.
In this case, it was worth doing without the £60 if it means longer-term cost benefits.
I was also looking at the nPower 2011 fixed deal, but this doesn't show up online if you click through Quidco - they only offer the standard rate or the online rate (neither are fixed).0 -
Just thought I'd update from yesterdays post.
Spoke to hubby last night and we decided to go with the Scottish Power fixed rate untill 2011. I just called them up to order it and its still on offer.
If anyone wants to know figures here are a few.....
First 225 kwh are charged at 16.057
Anything after that is 9.476 (These prices have VAT added)
You can choose to have a standing charge or not, I chose not as she said the tariff is the same either way.
If you decide to leave or change tariff before 2011 there are no penalties as long as you inform them by letter within 28 days of change or leaving as you are on a 28 day rolling contract. Likewise if they want to terminate they must give you 28 days notice in writing.
I am quite pleased as yesterday I was quoted a fixed monthly DD price which I thought was good, today when I called it was lower! Not by much but it all helps.
We decided in the end that a price increase now is affordable as if prices do go up as expected in the coming weeks we will end up paying about the same as we do now. Then if they go up again by the end of the year we will be on a good deal.
HTH someone.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi,
It's strange they are/were still putting people on this. He signed up fine it's when he went to put someone else on it they said no, and that when his switch is processed it will be rejected due to the date being after last friday when the deal ended.
They gave him a number to complain/appeal. I hope they don't refuse anyone who applied after friday. He is going to wait and see what happens- by complaining he might draw more attention to it!?[0
