last day to switch to scottish power fixed rate until 2011

Although this information is in another thread I thought it would be worth flagging up. Scottish power is doing a fixed rate until feb 2011 and this is the last day you can apply. The lady I spoke to said that was because they were now confident of big rises in energy prices. Overall it only meant a 10% increase in my direct debit bills. We are big user (4 children at home) so I think it will be a good deal for us in over the course of the package. This thread is for the less than dilgent (they do exist) who might have missed this information otherwise!!

    Awesome!!!

I noticed the tariff had disappeared from Uswitch yesterday, and thought I'd missed the boat.

Just phoned up, signed up and am now a very happy bunny.

The tarrif is about 20% higher than the best variable price I can get. Very difficult decision - that's almost £200 / year down the drain if the prices don't go up, and they'll have to go up a lot to make it worth it. I've signed up so as not to miss it, but still thinking it through for another 7 days of cooling off.

No gas price or elec price in 3 years in this climate the chance of that happening is miniscule, by what % is anybodies guess, but there will be an increase.

I'm with Scottish Power - and my monthly £66 went up to £88 - and today I received a bank statement to see that they have direct debited £207 from my account this month!!

I live in a small property - two of us - and out at work full time!

    I'm phoning them........

I've just had an email to say that my dd is going up, I've told them not to do it and that I'll pay the difference on line out household has now 2 less people in it and they were the ones who used all the power so I'm hoping to economise a bit just have to wait for a reply now

Just to let you know, I just called Scottish Power asking if this deal still available and it is. I got some figures and they look good to me.
Going to talk to hubby about it and I reckon I'll be switching.

Thanks. I have switched today (already with Scottish Power but changed tarriff). The way I look at it by the time the price fall tarriff expires in November the best deals available then will be way more expensive than the fixed. That's almost guaranteed. At least it's summer so bills will be generally smaller now anyway.
