Im in need of computer repair and i am also in good old london, how did the computer repair go and would you recommend them to use?

Has anyone any idea how to get sound to work on your laptop as the speakers are not working and have tried everything.

heya bossman, yes i would defo recommend this company called yan tech, they have a freephone number on 08001923030, give them a car they sorted out all my problems for a very cheap fee, i even gave them a tip as i was happy. Sorry i cant help you with your problems but i am sure they will. x

If the former, go to the manufacturers website, download soundcard/multimedia drivers and install them. Check there are no exclamation/question marks in start, run, devmgmt.msc

if the latter, check that all mixers are up and nothing is muted when you click on your speaker icon, bottom right, if there are any keyboard keys with speaker like icons, check they are up, some require Fn+pgup or similar. Some older laptops have a wheel or special buttons for volume.

Still not working, try a pair of headphones, and post back with results of your diagnosis, and details of model/OS etc.

Hi i tried that but still nothing, even with headphones. Its a sony laptop VGN910n winxp pro. Im totally stuck.....

Thanks i will give them a call now and see if they can sort it, didnt know 0808 numbers are free, you learn something new everyday. cheers
