i keep getting pop up about aol changing there network.
downloaded the file but it wont uninstall old drivers, keep getting cannot open bitmap pop up?.
dowloaded new drivers but they wont install until the old ones are uninstalled
tried aol live help a complete waste of time.
rang em up and no luck there either ,everything they have said wont work for me.
just wondered if anyone else had this problem,as the network changes 28th sept and i think i may have even more probs from then on.

Hi...I am on aol gold. What is this about changes to their network on 28 September? I haven't heard anything and do not get any pop ups from them0

you've probably heard this a million and one times, but i'm gonna say it anyway..
- ditch AOL.
i work in IT and have had nothing bud bad experiences with them. Their networks are not geared up enough to handle anything other than browsing and downloading, their software is poorly coded and slow, and they're overpriced. I recommend Griffin Internet or Pipex (griffininternet.co.uk) or (pipex.net) - and you can use any browser you like - internet explorer, mozilla, firefox. - much faster and less updating than aol.
I too have had experience with their tech help - spoke to a guy called 'John' who sounded like he was in Pakistan..0 -
Got a popup saying if I don't download their updates, my PC will go back to 128k speed on Friday September 26th
Firstly, surely I should be getting what I paid for, not 128k - their upgrades damaged one PC as it is, secondly, I was told my new modem was ready for the new upgrades and finally September the 26th is not a Friday!0 -
YUP got the same pop up this morning. Ended up wiping out my whole modem drivers.
I re-installed them and tried again. Somehow I got there in the end, but I had to go into install and remove, and then fix the modem control and stuff, I can't even remember.... I will have to complain.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Agreed, i got the same, and because only could chose drivers on image, it was updating my voyager 105 drivers with voyager 100's took me 2 hours of trying to speak to aol live help (phones couldnt get through)
and then 1 hour of me manually doing everything, reinstalling windows etc
thoroughly annoyed, not impressed at all!
I shall be moving to another isp very soon, had nothing but toruble, and they start blaming other peopl for their bad service, and software

I have the Voyager 105, so do I need to download these upgrades?
I'd sooner it go to 128k, complain like crazy and get another ISP0 -
