Why oh why are people not trained properly?
Do you realise how many different levels and types of educational qualifications there are?
There are a list of courses on the guidance pages for TCO advisers, that are Non-Advanced, ie NVQ level 3 (or uquivalent) and below.
It is up to the applicant to check the level of the course not TCO or the advisers.
TCO do not just follow suit with CBO. You need to make both aware that the child is continuing in Full Time Non-Advanced Education (FTNAE).
FTNAE is NVQ level 3 and below (or uquivalent qualification) and at least 12 hours per week must be spent within the educational establishment (school, college).0 -
What really annoyed me with the tax credits is that a month or so ago i rang to say my son was going to college but they insisted that i got the exact name of the course he was doing, which i did yesterday then looked what happened cant win with them.
Im not going to bother with DLA i could do with extra money for taxis etc as im not allowed to drive anymore as i have blackouts and fits but they said im not a danger to myself dont think that deptment can read either  as its not what my doc and consulant wrote, my friend's neighbour gets dla he can climb ladders to clean windows fix guttering and hes not supposed to be able to walk due to bad back they got a car on dla n all...its all wrong who they award it to, people who are really ill and who are honest on claim form get turned down.0 -
Sqiggle..Have you thought about what you are going to do financially when he does leave full time education and you lose his child benefit and CTC.
Or are you just going to worry about that at the time?
Income support for long term sick?? I thought it was incapacity benefit for that??
I imagine when he leaves full time education, he will get a job and be able to help his mum (I'm assuming you are female squiggle?) out. Or move out possibly.
But either way it is one less mouth to feed so being without that money is not going to be the problem it would be now, is it?
Or were you just having a dig? 0 -
Good news this morning after finally talking to somone at tax credits who understood what i was on about even she agreed its silly the way the system is with advanced courses she has put his college course down as further education at A level so that means my tax credits wont stop:j , thats one less thing to worry about now, the last resort was going to back to work which i know there is no way im ready for doing that just yet.
My son isnt going anywhere hes got a home with me as long as he want to live here.
thanks again for advice.

Maybe you could get some help with the form filling and some support applying, appealing etc - CAB can help with this sort of thing. They should also be able to help you work out if you really should be entitled to the DLA and need to keep at it, or if there is some reason you don't meet certain criteria or something.squiggle37 wrote: »What really annoyed me with the tax credits is that a month or so ago i rang to say my son was going to college but they insisted that i got the exact name of the course he was doing, which i did yesterday then looked what happened cant win with them.

Good luck.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.
