** I have amended the file just to the website. I would ask that for security reasons we do not post .exe files, but rather a link to the site and details on what to click to get the file. This way, the user knows what they are opening. Thanks. Edited by Abuse Controller **
excellent program that searches mailboxes in outlook (98 - 2002) and removes duplicates - configurable and free - it's actually prayerware. no really - it was written by a rev - will save your sanity on those occasions you import your old files and forget to check the 'no duplicates' box"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -

smcicr........You know it's a really bad idea to post any .exe in an open forum. It's not safe practice, it could contain anything. I'm going to email abuse. They always remove these links. Couldn't you post the download page from where you got it.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Lavalys' Everest Home Edition http://www.lavalys.com
Tells you a bundle about the internals & software of your pc.
Eg how many sticks of memory, what speed,
Even tells you the WinOS activation code.
Invaluable before you do a reformat.0 -
I don't think TugZip has been mentioned. It's a brilliant zip program that can handle RAR and ACE archives too, superior to Winzip in my opinion, and a free alternative to using WinRar.
My list would be:
Firewall - Kerio Personal Firewall
Browser - Firefox
Email - Thunderbird
Ftp Client - FileZilla
Messenger - Trillian
Music - Winamp
CD-Ripping - Exact Audio Copy
Monitoring - SpeedFan"Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
ah - apologies one and all - never occurred to me.
right then - the amended link is a bit random so go here:
http://www.slipstick.com/addins/mail.htm
and scroll down to duplicate checkers section, it's the last one there.
lots of useful little bits of mail based software on that page by the way.
oh and someone might want to amend EvilMonkey's post above - also a direct link to the exe.
once again - apologies all round..."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -
I see a couple of handy ones haven't been mentioned.
Process Explorer ...........This will tell you exactly what is running on your computer. If you click on the task, it will tell you all the DLLs and other bits that each program is using. Very handy for seeing what's going on in the background.
TCPview ............... TCPView will show you a detailed listings of all TCP and UDP endpoints on your system, including the remote address and state of TCP connections as well as the application or process that is using the connection. In addition, you can end selected processes and close selected connections. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

This is a link to a free offline mortgage calculator. It is American but the 'amortization' works with pounds and gets the numbers correct. http://www.hsh.com/hbcalc.html
