I've just applied for one as well, so I guess I'd better dig out my discharge notice as well. I wish I could put that thing away & not have to look at it again. BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement." BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Yeah I know, I've got a feeling my discharge notice will not get filed in the cabinet for a while!!
I would be interested to see how you both get on with it. I was begining to worry about my posting, last thing I wanted to do is waste people's time & efforts.0

Don't worry about it. I wouldn't have even tried without your post, & we'll all learn something as a result, so no harm's been done.diablobear wrote: »Yeah I know, I've got a feeling my discharge notice will not get filed in the cabinet for a while!!

Having checked out the interest rate which is better than the Coop's I applied and received my welcome letter today. However on the basis of philnicandamy's experience I'll now leave it a few days before activating my account and paying in (my discharge cert. is primed and at the ready!).
However should things come to nought please don't feel you have mislead anyone diablobear, since I like others will certainly have been grateful for the lead and its not like it took much time to apply. However lets travel hopefully for now and keep fingers - or wherever crossed! - that all will go thru' OK.0

I have the overwhelming feeling .....
It depends on the individual, looking at you, your situation, your credit file, your everything!! ...... at that very moment in time. No one seems to be treated the same. That goes for -
 The Judge
 Your OR
The employee who looks at your credit file in the future
 etc. etc.
After spending a short time on this forum, I have noted a whole world of difference on an individual basis.
Some you win.... some you lose, it just depends on the individual given the task, who makes that decision at that moment in time.
 Unfair? - Maybe?!!
Shouldn't everyone be treated the same?
The reason why everyone isn't treated the same - It's a Human decision not a computer?0

Just to add having checked my email upon getting home this evening, I received the following from Sainsbury's:
"We are happy to confirm that the process to open your new Internet Saver account is now complete. You can now use all the functions of the account.
·Start saving regularly, if you haven't already started
·Access your money at any time
·View and service your account online (provided you have completed registration for our Online Service)
 Thank you for choosing Sainsbury's"
So I am assuming that everything is all good. Nevertheless will leave till' end of week, just in case!0

No worries, you didn't unsettle me, I just really hoped it might be a "sure thing" for everyone! I think we've agreed it's just how the wind blows!!! Let me know how you get on.
Thanks for keeping us posted Praxis - that's exactly the same e-mail I got, so hopefully you're home & dry!
I still havn't heard a thing about a need to see my proof of discharge! Logged in today and all is functioning as it should be!0
