Yeast is one of the things that does start to deteriorate quite quickly after its BBE date.
You could try putting the contents of one sachet in a jug with some warm water and seeing if it reacts - you should get bubbles on the surface if you leave it in a warm place for 20 mins or so..
Personally, I'd probably throw it away, as the cost of flour etc to make bread will be wasted if it doesn't work.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

TBH, I have used yeast in the past which is after its BBE date. I just used extra (eg 2 sachets instead of one) and it worked a treat. Good idea though, to try it in some warm water to see if it activates, and then you can use it.

How well is it sealed and has it been stored in a cool, dry place?

I've used yeast that has a best before date which is some far distant memory without any problems. However, you have to decide to use it on a sachet by sachet basis, depending on the condition of the sachets.

Thanks for your replies :) I'll try the water test, although I did pop to Lidl and buy a couple of sachets just in case.

Adding a pinch of sugar will help improve the reaction.
