Is This A Record !

Estate agents phoned 10 mins ago .....buyer has just pulled out - havnt told OH yet , shes at work at the moment ,not sure if I should wait till she gets home or email her at work with the bad news....

This is the 5th TIME THE BUYER has dropped out - still in a bit of shock myself actually

his reason ? - because there are Polish people living next door to us !!

I am speechlless ... this will be the fifth time I will have to go around to the people we were going to buy from and tell them its all off

so we now have the CCJ , the charging order ( from the silly old git of a judge - see other thread ! ), my temporary job that could finish any week now....

.oh well at least the sun is still shinning !!

Polish people are very nice, don't know what your ex-buyers objections to them could possibly be.

    agree!
i have polish tenants and they are very good. any maintence work, they tend to do themselves, and for those they can't, they get someone in and send me the invoice so I dont even have any hassles organising the work.

Presumably because the ex-potential-buyers are racists.

    Simple as that.

yes I agree as well - we very rarely hear a peep out of them at all - I bet our dogs make more noise than they do ! - they are polite and keep themslves to their selves.

I f it wasnt for the fact that they are allegedly de valuing our house and affecting its selling potential ,I would prefer them to a lot of so called natives

my partner is polish and im a bit saddened by the racism she gets...shes applied for 20 jobs for a basic admin job in the local area... only 2 replied telling her she hasnt got intereview... I personally wrote all the interview responses and I am degree educated... with a 28k job!.

    Really sad it is.

Neas, the other side of that coin is my experience of interviewing for an admin job which went to a highly qualified (over qualified given the actual salary and position, but she was more than capable and seemed eager at interview) polish girl who left after 3 weeks, once she had her visa up and running and nothing to do with the job.

The second time we interviewed, it became clear that two of the interviewees, who also happened to be Polish, had NOT written their own application as their own command of English did not match that on their application form and hence they were unsuitable for admin which required typing skills.

Its very hard to remain unbiased when receiving applicaiton forms when this kinda stuff happens in HR daily.

(Sorry for going Off Thread btw)

i wrote the applications to see if her english was the problem... I applied for more jobs than her and got 0 applications lol.

Its harder to get an admin job than it is to get a electronic engineer job it seems.. for me at least .... or maybe its cause i have a surname with 1 vowel? :P
