he's popped home. I said I was going to start getting ready - he asked what for - I said 'going out'

Conversation 15 minutes ago (which I can't think he would have forgotten by the time he left!)

me: sooooooooooooo, where we going to tonight?

him: dunno, what do you mean ?

me: well, going out?

him: bloody hell, it's never enough for you is it. I buy you presents and it's still not enough.

me: the presents are great, I'd like to go out though - just a couple of beers at the pub or a chinese,maybe get fish and chips and go down the beach with them if we put a jumper on, or even get a big bucket of KFC and go and sit in the car by the waters edge and listen to the radio?

him: I'm not doing that - I'm not a kid.

me: loads of people get fish and chips and sit in their cars - what's age got to do with it?

If you are a kid, you can't get fish and chips and sit in your car. Because you're too young to own a car...
