  • Accidental one, which makes it all the more wonderful.

Tesco's are doing a 2 for £12 offer on tins of Celebrations and Quality Street, which are normally £7.48 each.

However, I picked a tin of Quality Street that has a FREE Monopoly Game in it. This went through the till at a whopping £11.98 (NB: it is same weight are the non-game version, just a different barcode).

Went to CS, who first tried to say it was a different product. Then tried to refund difference. Then tried to just refund that tin, not both. I stood my ground - "Well, sign says Quality Street, not Quality Street WITHOUT game in", and "well that makes the Celebrations £7.48 still, not the £6 (each) it should be". Eventually they gave in, and refunded them both - yipee!!

So, stock up for Christmas - oh dear, my diet is gonna suffer. he-he!

UPDATE: There seems to be an issue here. I have now seen the Monopoly versions on their own section of the shelf in a different store, with a specific label against them for £11.98. Now, I would like to know why they are chaginging £4.50 more for a tin with (effectively) a "free" game in it. Can they do that?! Seems a bit odd really, considering the choccys are the same weight.
    Always after a bargain... :-)

Sorry can't remember if these are exact prices as there were sooo many today, but will be right give or take pennies...

CD 'Legends' The Drifters: sticker £5.97 scanned £7.97

Elvis DVD Aloha from Hawaii (white box red sparkly writing): cant remember prices but was oversharged cos sticker was less than scan

The Who - the kids are alright DVD: sticker £9.99 scanned £19.99

Dora the explorer songs book: sticker £4.97 scans £6.97

Barbara Streisland still scanning £9.97 (poster £7.97) and George Michael still scanning at £7.97 (sticker £4.97) Ella DVD still scanning at higher price too.
Disney princess song book still stickered at £4.97 and scanning £6.97
Antonio Carluccio cook book still stickered @ £12.97 scanning £14.97

I'd say get in there quick...but they dont seem to be at all interested at Tesco in rectifying these mistakes so chill out...have a cuppa....re decorate the house and these misprices will still be in store!
In fact I'm wondering if this thread should even be on the grabbit board at the moment!!

Can't believe it. I've just got myself a free PC!

It's the Phillips Iqon celeron. Priced on shelf as £448, the box says £349.93,
so I took one to a scanner and it scanned at the higher price!

Had to argue a bit with the manager, but eventually he relented and gave me a full refund!

The is in the Tesco express, Longton, Stoke on Trent.

They took them all straight off the shelves though.
    Thats my Xmas sorted!! :D

anyone post the number on the barcode for me please?
If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
    If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:
