Just back from Gerona, the online check-in is the way for me from now on. No problem at all, found an internet cafe in L'Estartit with print facilities, done the do and off we went. If there,s a cafe in L'Estatit there must be one in more popular places. The challenge was taking just one small suitcase so that I didnt have to stow any luggage.

EDIT; the bus was so easy and cheap too, cost us 15 euros for two from Gerona right to the door of the camp.

I'm glad I saw this post. I didn't realise that there would be a problem printing out the return boarding pass.

Do you know if you only get one attempt at printing it out? Could you reprint it if you lost it or it didn't print in the first instance?

Hi Steve_xx, Yes it has a facility to reprint. You must have the number of the card you booked it with to gain access.

Or the email address you entered when you booked the tickets.
No reliance should be placed on the above.
  • Hi
Make sure you print good quality passes. We had to get normal passes at Luton last week as they could not read the bar code at security.

Mine were printed pretty badly when we went to Dublin a month or so ago and they scanned ok, I was a bit worried but couldn't get my printer to do then any clearer. Would you get charged if they weren't printed clearly and didn't scan?

It's funny you should say that because when we printed out our boarding passes in Spain for the return flight I commented that they looked like fake bar codes as they were all fuzzy. The went through fine at Valencia. I can't remember if the ones I printed out at home were the same - I can't think they were as I would have probably noticed.

I take your point. Did you have to pay for your Boarding Pass then? Also, don't the bar codes have digits associated with them that can be manually input? In supermarkets the checkout staff often have to input the digits manually for items that wont scan.

If you have checked in online and the barcode doesnt scan then you dont have to pay for new boarding pass (but do have to go and queue at desk :( ) Saying that Ryanair will probably start to charge for that too ;)
There arent numbers that can be inputted manually. the bar code looks pretty dodgy tbh, but the one that we got turned down for wasnt even a barcode-it had printed as a solid black block

Where do you go to scan the barcode? I'm thinking that with online boarding you go straight through the security gate when you get to the airport and the show your Boarding Pass as you are about to board the plane? Is this correct? If it is correct, then how would you get back through security and go to the normal check-in desk if the barcode wont scan?
