due to the vinegar fabric conditioner (quoted by kscour)
What's this then? (not read all posts here - fairly new on this one - and lots have mentioned vinegar for different things)
I think this all sounds quite normal really - just a different way of living we can't all be strange - can we"It is always the best policy to speak the truth-unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." - Jerome K Jerome0 -
Normal is boring anyhow....................who wants to be a sheep?Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600

At the rate this site is growing, we'll all soon be the normal ones and the spendthrifts will be considered odd! :jOne half of the world cannot understand the pleasures of the other0

I get annoyed now when either:
a) there's nothing in the yellow stickered items that I need or
b) there are too many people round the yellow stickered items so I can't see or they get the best bits first.

Obsessed? Are you kidding?... to know what obsessed is you have to do what I did yesterday when I needed to use my sellotape. I noticed the 1/4 inch or so fold to find the end, and since I use quite a bit of the stuff for my packages etc, I began to think that out of a roll, I was wasting a good 10 or so inches.
So I remembered a tip from somewhere, and found a small, odd button in my sewing kit (never used) and now instead of folding the sellotape end, I stick a little button. So no waste.
When you think that I have a good job and no debts but savings, this is getting really obsessive!!Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
My OH did the shopping the other day for the first time in ages and I went over the receipt. I gave him a good telling off for buying "treats" that were not on the list and threatened to dock his "pocket money" by the £7.40 he had overspent! (When I thought about it after I realized that I may have been slightly irrational, but hey, he went over my budget!) This week he rang me from Sainsburys and said is it OK to buy yoghurt for DD as its not on the list. I think I have him scared. :rotfl:
At the weekend I did my Aldi shop and after fighting with the freezer for 10 minutes I managed to shoehorn everything in. Both my freezers have not been so full since Christmas, the cupboards are groaning, we havent had a ready meal since I cant remember when, we are eating so much better. The kids love my home made cakes and put in requests for when their friends come to tea. All this and Ive shaved pounds off my weekly shopping bill.
Since coming on here I have stocked up on half price seeds, bought a reduced plastic greenhouse, OH has made a cold frame and dug over a veg patch, started compost in my subsidized compost bin, made home made bread, yoghurt and pizza bases, ebayed loads of stuff, bought in loads of Xmas pressies early when I spotted a bargain, got loads of gift vouchers for pressies for nowt off pigsback, baked loads of cakes, made birthday cards, and oh yeah! saved loads of money and enjoyed myself too. Now Ive realized we can still have a good lifestyle wiothout my salary, and am looking for a new job with less hours, so I can spend more time Ol' Stylin. OH has become a computer widower though.0 -
I wish you hadn't mentioned it Al Mac! I've never noticed it before and now I can't go to bed..............because I'm catching up on all the days posts
LLAl_Mac wrote:This site is great, once again I must mention the "New Posts" button, above, you can't go to bed until there isn't any:rotfl:We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars........................0 -
Saving money, getting freebies and cheapies, and spending sensibly is all perfectly normal. And it doesn't mean you're a tightwad either.
When I see these appalling people in the supermarket, with trolley loads of junk for their hideous spoilt brats, I absolutely cringe. The money some people waste on sheer rubbish! And when I see those "Bank of Mum & Dad" or "Your Money or Your Life" programmes about dimwitted wastrels, I just think they should be clubbed to death!
No, it's people like us that are normal. Think about it next time you see those "victims" of our society at the checkout.0 -
