Just got my A2 glossy print...
Epson sent me my print in this cheap recycled cardboard tube which gave me about 3 splinters. Grrr - just joking.
but anyway, I just used my 3.2megapixel camera - burned onto disc and sent it to them. I recieved my photo within 5 days of sending the disc.
The quality is superb...

I was wondering where my print had got to (sent on about 22 November) when I had a voicemail from Epson, saying there had been a mix up and various details had been lost. Fortunately I had written all my details on the actual CD - name, address & phone number. All they need to know was my preferred print type.
I don't know if this applies to others. Will post more when I have details and have been able to contact them in person. (guy left incorrect mobile number on my voicemail!)Nice to save.0 -

OK, finally got through to someone at Epson in Telford. The guy who originally contacted me promptly took the rest of the week off. Nothing personal, I asssume.
The story goes that there was a problem with their website at some stage and details of who applied were lost. So I guess if you just submited their reference code then they won't be able to tie the CD you sent to your details. I was lucky that I wrote my full contact details on the actual CD. I requested the free print around November 28th (and sent it in a couple of weeks later), so assume that those of you that also applied around that time and haven't received their print may be in the same boat.
Their contact details are easily available from the address on your confirmation email, via BT's 118500 service. Just in case below bit is edited!
I did obtain their permission to give out details to others, so I hope this is OK to do on the forum. The head office number 01952 670066. You will need to ask for either Sarah Big (who is not in after today) or Steve Valentine (who will be in from next Monday).
Hope this helps.Nice to save.0 -
Have trawled this thread but not entirely sure this hasn't been said already, so please forgive if this is the case.
Firstly, your image source doesn't need to be a very high quality camera. Your 2 megapixel camera will produce an image that can be "resized" or "resampled" to meet the requirements. Sure, it will not be as good quality as using a more expensive, say 7-12 megapixel camera, but hey - your print is free and there's not much you can do other than buy a better camera (not that megapixel count is all that determines how good a camera is of course!)
Secondly, you don't need to be a maths genius to figure it out.
Imagine your image consists of lots of coloured dots. If you merely double the size, you are simply duplicating dots (one dot becomes four in a square). The image will be bigger but you will notice the lack of quality more.
But thankfully, as I think someone here has mentioned, there's another option called resampling. This doesn't just duplicate the dots to give more dots, it recreates them according to some clever processing.
SO - download a program like Irfanviewer (free software, google for it), and resample your image accordingly (it's a menu option). Using Irfan, you can specify what algorithm you want to use (i.e. what method is used in the resampling process). If you don't understand what that means - use the bottom option (the one that says it takes most time). If you google for "resampling algorithms" you never know - you might learn something
Anyway, hope that helps someone.
