  • Sorry mate, but you didn't read my post. It depends on your genetics.  Some may require more muscle, so need to eat more, and some may need less, if you're lucky you can find it with a normal diet, but others are not that lucky.  Also depends on different ratios you require.

    Your original post here Kinster :

    It's easy... it's the protein that gives you the muscle gain!

    Depends on genetics and who you are... you can't just say this is bullsh*t and untrue.

    Different strokes for different folks.

    Quote Kinster::

    Your assuming that more protein equals more muscle which just isn't correct - of course some people will grow faster than others - the answer for the 'hardgainer' is not to chuck extra protein down his neck to make up for their genetic shortfall - if it was that easy Danny DeVito would be Mr Olympia.

    This is my problem with supplement companies, they brainwash people into believing they won't progress unless they take supplements.

    If people concentrated on cycling their workouts eating well maintaining good technique and getting plenty of rest instead of looking for a 'magic potion' and shortcuts they would make gains.

    Look at your old time strong men like Hepburn etc - did they have masses of supplements to take ?

    The advancement in BB physiques in the last 20 years is purely down to drugs like HGH etc - nothing to do with some powder

    Protein intake in combination with simple carbohydrates, post-workout, are the key ingredients to achieving a state of anabolism and offsetting the bodies’ process converting muscle tissue for energy expenditure

    I though the idea behind power shakes containing protein and carbs was to provide energy, replace lost enery/ nutrients and to stop your body using "muscle" as a fuel source, NOT "making" bigger muscles?
