CreditExpert Members - New Website Problems

Hi

Has anyone else who is a member of CreditExpert noticed a change to their systems since they introduced the new website a few days ago.

I often pay my Next Directory Account in advance of the item(s) ordered going past the approval date simply because I have decided I will not be returning them. This sometimes causes Next to report to the CRA's that my account is in credit and at the moment it is by £54. It is showing on both Equifax's live system and on-line system (as I bought a report to check) as in credit and before Experian launched their new website it was also showing correctly as in credit.

Now it is showing on the account information section as having a zero balance at the date it was last updated, however, on the new page which appears before your actual report that gives you your statistics such as you have x amount of available credit, and you have y amount of outstanding debt (and more information) it has taken the £54 off of the amount outstanding so that value of outstanding debit is £54 shy.

However, if I had never been aware that I was updated as being £54 in credit with Next I would not know why the value of outstanding credit was £54 short of that obtained from adding up the values on each account.

I know it is not much of an issue, but if you also hold an Egg Money card and keep it in credit (as I have and am about to do), or indeed any other revolving budget account this is going to mess up the calculations as they stand. As when the accounts are in credit they are going to show with zero balances on your report, and your outstanding debt value will also be incorrect as they are subtracting any credit balances from it, but because a credit value does not reduce your level of debt, they are taking taking off your savings, so the statement does not make sense.

There is also a problem with the value of total available credit as rather than taking away your debts from the addition of all your credit limits, they are adding in any credit balance as well(well at least this is happening on my report). So if for example you have no outstanding debt but an account in credit it will show your total available credit as greater than the sum of your credit limits, at least if the calculation are followed this way and the system has not been programmed not to allow this to happen.

They have told me over the phone that on their live system the values are showing as they truely are not as CreditExpert is displaying them.

Does anyone else have an account(s) they know is in credit and it is now showing as a zero balance? hence showing what is a nonsense value for outstanding debit and total available credit, as there is a difference between your available credit and your available credit plus your savings with for example Egg.

I have only brought it up as this is not free, we pay for it every month, and I am sure we all expect to be getting what we pay for which is correct information. I am pretty sure it says on the top of the report page something about being in accordance with the data protection act, which it clearly isn't.

Hi James ... Not the same problem but I have noticed on the new page that it says I am NOT on the electoral roll .... but I am ... so they cocked that bit up! Haven't called them about it yet as I know I am actually registered and showing on the actual report. I also have a Next account and it never shows on my credit reports .. Strange ...

EDIT - I've just checked my report and it's been corrected and says I am now on the ER ..

    Thanks Tori

I need to go back and edit my post I had not woken up when I wrote it.

I will make sure I have had a lot more coffee in the morning before writing anything.

    Cheers

I have edited my post at the start of the thread in an attempt to make it make sense. I have been told by Experian that they will be working on getting credit values showing as a priority and I have pointed out the error or what I think is an error in adding in credit values so it looks like you have less debt than you have.

As I think this would only make sense if they were quoting a figure for your total savings minus your debts were they knew how much saving you have so it would give an accurate figure of your outstanding liabilites.

I hope this makes sense to someone other than me.

Well I like the look and the summary page but they have stopped real time reporting, they have gone like Equifax and only let you see 1 report per day , even if you get a new report the same data shows up from earlier that day and any new searches don’t appear, this is a serious clanger the have dropped.

I did not know that! that is rather disappointing as I use it to watch to see if an application has been processed yet. I did notice you can now get a PDF version of your previous days report though. That is the reason why I did not sign up for Equifax after the trial period because you can only get one report per day.

Edit: it was James Jones at Experian who I wrote to about this and he wrote back very quickly, I think he is very high up I am sure I saw him on TV once. He also said there was excellent feedback from customers about the summary page and they welcome any further feedback either good or bad. I have a funny feeling they will be watching this thread as I did send him a copy of that mess of a post I wrote first thing this morning.

Well, that's a shame - I used to like that aspect of Credit Expert .. although I do prefer the look and feel of the new website ... Much tidier then before and it hides the sections you don't want to look at :D

I too have credit expert, had a look and in the Public Records section, there are no records of my bankruptcy? Probably just a slight itch with the new version!
