I went into Early Learning Centre yesterday looking for one of those "bubble wands" - huge bubble blowing sticks that kids love as they make bubbles as big as or bigger than them! There were none out on display, so I asked the lady and she went downstairs to the stock room and came back with one half-price. She said she had a fair few down there but they weren't currently on display! So...£4 rather than £8? Put THAT in your stocking (if it fits....) hehe.

Yes I still do Christmas stockings for my three although my lads are now 13 and the other will be 16 by Christmas. My daughter will be nearly 18.

Doing the stockings every year is getting more and more difficult, finding things that are a novelty, fun, something they would not buy for themselves, something their friends have not got, but also cheap. Some years I spend more on filling the stockings than I do on the main presents.

My daughters is the worse because all the stuff she likes is small and expensive, jewlerry, make up and perfume, you need a huge ammount to fill a teenage girls stocking. And I cant just put in all the bits and pices I have collected form Boots because she knows I am always looking for Boots bargains and offers!

Last christmas I used some of the cosmetics sites on the web and got free make up worth £25 with every order - when I put this in the stockings - they were so pleased that they were amazed that they got christmas presents as well!

I also get very reasonable Estee Lauder cosmetics - they were very impressed.
    "This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
    Preemie hats - 2.

    it's fantastic (& no I don't work for them!!) :>))

Only problem is that I end up spending far too much money with them!

I bought these cash cans last month for my boys to put their pounds they get from Grandma/Grandad etc - they seem like a great idea and more importantly don't cost much!

  • Wrap up things that they would have anyway. Mine always have pjamas underwear and for my sons first christmas i wrapped up the baby wipes. jars of food etc so my older one thought that santa had been for him also. Bright tootbrushes and kids toothpaste or the battery operated ones when they are on offer went down well. Thier own video supply to tape programmes and paper for the computer if they like to print.

Used to do this when mine were younger but my gang of teenagers dont approve of these sort of stocking fillers now! LOL
