Hi everyone,I am 60  although only just,I am a widow with a grown up son and daughter and 2 gorgeous grandsons.

I have always been OS,it was the way I was brought up,we didn't have much money when I was a child and my Mum was an expert at making a meal out of nothing.

It is maybe easier for me to manage on little money as I am on my own and I don't drive, but I admire all the people who are struggling to raise families on low incomes and it is great to see so many younger members on here who are interested in OS ways.

I think more and more people are going to have to become OS with the way prices are rising.

I'm 44 (45 in 21 days ). OH is 46. Three children - DD11, DS8 and DD3. I think I buck the trend on having children young. I had my first at 33 and my last at nearly 42! Met my soulmate on a kibbutz in Israel 18 years ago, and are having our 14th wedding anniversary this September.

I've learnt such a lot on the OS forum, and am still learning. So many knowledgeable and helpful people.

When I was much younger I always dreamed of becoming self-sufficient (growing our own food, solar/wind energy), but that's not likely to happen until we have our own home which won't be happening for a long time (if ever )

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello:Hello!

I am 51 and Mr Catz is 52 years young! We have 2 offspring, ds 30 and dd 24 and a daft but soft puppy 11 months.

I was brought up to be old style as well, Mum and Dad met and fell in love during world war2 so started life with rationing. My Grandparents married after the 1st world war and scrimped and scraped all their lives but were happy and thirfty, in the early years they had no electricity etc., grew their own veg, kept chickens etc., and had 5 children.

Most folk consider me to be somewhat eccentric but here I am at home!:D

    I'm nearer 41 than 40 so had to go for 40-45! S**t that's almost grown up :p

I have been a single parent for 2 years officially but about 13 in reality as ex OH was always awol. I was OS out of necessity for a lot of years but I'm finally getting sorted so that it is how I WANT to be not how I HAVE to.

At home there is me, DD16, DS14 and DS18 when he feels like it, although usually stays at his Dad's. We also have 3 fish, 1 rabbit and 7 cats.
For those who remember my ladies giving birth, I found homes for 6 kittens and have kept 2 myself.

I'm 35 (going on 36), same as DH and in 10 years of marriage DH and i have gone from cooking from scratch, to being on first name terms with take out / delivery guys (and getting invites to weddings and christenings from said delivery & take out guys). We've almost come full circle back to cooking from scratch, though this time we budget, menu plan, write shopping lists, and batch cook meals we love.

For all we have good jobs (and salaries) we couldn't afford to buy take aways every night!

I am 34 soon to be 35! my dh is 43 and we have 3 kids ds 7(nearly 8) dd 9 and ds 11 (soon to be 12) ....yes we did have 3 kids within 4 years!!
We also have 2 dogs and 2 cats. Being os is nothing new to me I suppose ,I have always been this way (apart from a major lapse last year!) as I learnt it from my mum. We never had any money when we were kids and unfortunatley I have followed in her footsteps!! ...........although we are still relitively well off now compared to my childhood.
