Can I beg someone to please post the recipes for chilli jam and chutney that are mentioned on the first page of the thread?
My OH's mother never eats the biscuits I make for his family, so I'd like to try with chilli jam, chutney and some cheese and crackers this year. It's important it's a tested recipe instead in case I find a dud one Googling unsupervisedOrganised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

sammy_kaye18 - your list is really similar to mine, even down to the colour coded key! Can I ask for the pet treats, how are you making them? Are they for cats or dogs? We have 3 cats and I usually get them one of the ready made stockings, but would love to have ago at making some treats for them.Debt free wannabe

There's always a clever !!!!!! around when you don't want one int there Sammy:p But both threads are very enjoyable don't you think?
Sorry big mumma but it did make me chuckle. Glad your enjoying both threads though. I'm picking up lots of ideas on both of them - and its a good job im startign now - i may just have all the crafts done by christmas!
Cookiedough - lol, glad you liek my list - boyfriend thinks i am very boring because i have lits everywhere and am christmas mad already in July - lol its not even been my birthday yet! the treats I am making are more for dogs (Bruno , Crystal and George) but the other two Tiddles and Thomas are cats and i have a few homemade gifts for them too - i am working on trying out treats on my pooch at the minute and will be making cat treats soon to test on my mothers two to see if they like them. I will post a link in two ticks when i can find it in my favourites list.
Also ment ot add for cats - if you are a crafty person - you could get two small squares of material and lie one flat, put a lump or so of catnip and then glue the other square on top to make a sort of no sew pillow - which would make a nice toy for them - or get a cat nip plant which im sure they'd love too.Time to find me again0 -
I am loving this thread!!!

I'm thinking there should be some recipes on the Pets board in the Relationships bit IYSWIM. I've a recipe somewhere for liver cake that came from Pup's skool that keeps well in the freezer. When I find it I'll post on here too.
Cuz Pup is white, the half-choker leaves a grey ring around his neck, so I'll get some off-cuts of material to hem up to make some bandanas....more to do:D
Just been on Weezl's thread [the one about 50p a day] & told them about using empty bean tins etc for making the individual fruit cakes & wuddiya-no! ! What about making up things like sponge puds with different sauces in the bottom? They could be cooked & frozen, then the recipient can keep them in the freezer to heat up as required....tho obviously not in the microwave. What else could be made d'ya think?

hi moon,
ive used 'magic bead thread'- clear plastic, guess-timated the length for different people using my neck as a guide- so my m-i-l is tiny so knocked a couple of inches off, whereas my sister is broad so given her an extra inch. then used a crimp to secure one end into a loop (approx 2cm long). worked out the pattern before hand so just had to thread the beads on. then crimped the other end into a loop.
for the bit that secures the chain to the glasses I was going to buy the proper little attatchment, but had a brainwave to use a bead instead! just slide one that's a snug fit over the end loop to turn the loop into an 8 shape. slide it up and down to fix to glasses.
