The point here though is that the agents are using it to manipulate the sale. Compliance at connells is and always has been on the line.
The mortgage advisor should not be talking to the agents about the clients situation. They are creating a conflict or interest and issue with data handling.
Then again they were always cowboys IMO!0 -
This pretty much backs up my experiences as a prospective buyer when dealing with Connells.
Last year I approached two Connells offices in two neighbouring areas. Both tried their damndest to get me to speak to their in-house mortgage broker and when we flatly refused to do so they flatly refused to acknowledge that they had any suitable properties on their books - in spite of there being dozens of such properties on with them on rightmove.
Very suspect. Wouldnt deal with connells if you paid me.

Hooooooray. Someone telling how it is. Total BS. I was at Coun***wide for a period of time, and yes if the sale goes through the branch and the mortgage does also that is how they want to work it. They can then manipulate the vendor to pur off the other interested party if they went through an independant.
Qualification of funding is standard practice to purchase, but force people to see the adviser to get a "target" and potentially a sale. Crap. Quite right to Dan, panel of lenders as well.
fn, not all companioes work this way but having experienced it I know how much I do now HATE that side of this market.

What I can't understand is how you can achieve a mortgage of over 200k when you quite clearly cannot write without punctuation or clarity. What do you do that gives you a salary to that level? I'm obviously in the wrong work.0

unlike some of the people on this forum myself and my husband have ambition,we dont drink or smoke, and we both work extremely hard, sounds like a bit of jealously because we can afford a morgage of 200k, just so you all know halifax are tripping over themselves to give us the money, but we dont need it all as we have a large deposit.:T0
