Morgage approvals are getting to a all time low as per the link...
Matey of mine and his partner earn 60k and have just been refused unless they can get a parent to stick their house down on the morgage.

Its taken me 30 years of work to save the £10,000 I have in ISAs for me and the other half. It would be no joke to lose it but as said on here - if they do go under the FSA will sort that out it will just take time.
It is all very worrying as neither me nor the OH are able to retire at retirement anyway.
We have our mortgage with A&L and it finishes in February so that will be one worry over with.I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.:eek:0 -
Bradford and Bingley shares down 21% today to only 63 pennies. Even for Bradford and Bingley this is a whopping one day loss. :eek:Krusty & Phil Madoff, 1990 - 2007:

B+B Shares had previously increased by a "similar" % on the initial bid speculation.0 -
These shares were over £5 not so long ago. Now they're 60p. That is some drop in anyone's book.0

All bank shares have fallen steeply in recent times for known reasons.

They were over £5 at one point. So £5 to 60p is a drop of about 90%.
I don't think any other banks have dropped by that margin except Northern Crock of course. :rotfl:0 -

A+L have dropped further in monetary terms during the last year.

Although B+B shares have been over 5.00 a share, historically they appear to have been largely in the 3.00-4.00 range, big drop i agree, other banks have dipped sharply as well.

( above is up until 1st Jan 2008 i believe, as we all know what has occurred to B+B shares in 2008. )0 -
A&L's drop from a peak of about £11.50 to £3 is only a 74% drop.
So well done to the board of A&L, you may be cack but you're not as cack as B&B :T0 -
