Surge protection for equipment is an entirely different question to "Are these safe to use?"
A fused extention lead will blow the fuse if the total current being drawn exceeds the total rating, as opposed to the old non-fused brick type. Hence, and to answer the OP, yes they are perfectly safe.
For someone who moans when other people don't address the original question in a thread, you don't seem to follow your own advice. :rotfl:I have no signature.0 -

....because of your personal inferrence. I'm keeping on topic because I'm responding directly to that issue. Whether you disagree with that interpretation and concentrate on one specific aspect of it doesn't mean it's off topic to take another view of "safety".
So your last statement makes absolutely no sense and perhaps you need to widen your horizons a bit and that someone who disagrees with you isn't necessarily answering a different question. I didn't think you answered the question at all but I didn't accuse you of going off topic. Perhaps you need to keep that in mind before you start (attempting) to attack people personally.

I think that pretty much demonstrates that you were following your own "personal inferrence", in replying to a post that answered the OPs question.
I'm mystified as to where you think my last post contained personal attacks. If I'd said that you were an !!!!, who didn't follow his own advice, that would certainly have been a personal attack. Fortunately, I did not.

I haven't denied that. If you actually had bothered to read my posts you'll see that I've not made a single incorrect factual statement and anything you may disagree with is quite clearly qualified as an opinion.I'm mystified as to where you think my last post contained personal attacks. Because "For someone who moans when other people don't address the original question in a thread, you don't seem to follow your own advice. :rotfl:" doesn't apply to me personally?
It certainly doesn't seem to have any direct relevance to the subject and is all about your opinion of me personally. If you think a personal attack is limited to simply name calling then I'd have to disagree. I've seen posters banned for personal attacks without uttering a single bad name. If you had actually bothered to read my posts, you'll see that I have also not made a single incorrect factual statement. I'll repeat again: my original post was answering the OPs question "are these safe to use". :rolleyes:superscaper wrote: »Because "For someone who moans when other people don't address the original question in a thread, you don't seem to follow your own advice. :rotfl:" doesn't apply to me personally?

No, it's an opinion of your actions.I have no signature.0
