Tiscali Max

Just wondering if anyone has managed to subscribe to Tiscali's broadband/phone line rental and free weekend calls package for £14.99.

I just get this:

Tiscali Max is not available to all customers. If your maximum line rate is not high enough to reliably support Tiscali Max it will not be available to you. Your maximum line rate will depend on a number of factors:
  • Principally how close you live to your phone exchange (the nearer you are the faster the speed you can expect).
  • Quality of the actual copper phone line.
This is the primary reason Tiscali Max will not be available to some customers. In some circumstances the line rate may be OK however there is insufficient capacity at the exchange. This will only affect a small number of customers.

They're the most complained about ISP in this country - are you sure you want to go with this company?

You get what you pay for with broadband. Pay peanuts then expect Monkeys to pick up the phone when you have an issue with their service :)

I've been with Tiscali for broadband and calls for about 2 and a half years, not one problem at all. We have 3 pcs using the internet most of the time, completely trouble free.... just thought it was time I moved my line rental with them too as it is such a rip off having to stay with BT purely for line rental.

I honestly thought the call charges were the same as BT, I was sure I looked at that recently, perhaps I missed something.

Can you explain what the 18185 thing is that you mention.. ta

So your saying that Tiscali have unbundled your line (LLU) and are providing broadband ,free weekend calls, and line rental and you can still use the access code 18185?
My understanding is that once your line is unbundled you cant use 18185. Although if your line is not unbundled ,and you can still use 18185,they do reserve the right to block 18185 access.

One major difference between them and BT is that they dont offer a Evening and Weekend Call Package.

www.18185.co.uk is a cheap call provider used by a lot of members.

If you did have problems their expensive 0871 Customer Service Number is another thing that would concern me see: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=913897
Unlike other suppliers its not included in their call bundles.

I am on the Tiscali Broadband, line rental including free calls anytime for £20.99 a month. I have not had one single problem and last week I asked them for a Wireless router and they sent me one out for nothing.
I've cut my broadband and line rental by transferring from BT to Tiscali from approx £45.00 per month to £20.99 and not had a single problem !

Yes, simply as that. I don't know if the line was unbundled or not, but we pay line rental , BB and calls to Tiscali.
Never had a problem calling via 18xxx numbers. Had other problems with their call centre but not related to this.

Please tell me how you got them to send you the free wireless router as we've had no end of trouble trying to get it. DH ordered one 2nd June when he extended the contract for another year...this was one of the only reasons he did so and as of yet we've had nothing. He's emailed them I've phoned them (they wont talk to me as i'm not account holder..even though bill is in both our names but BT line isn't)

Just wondered if we're still under contract as they haven't fulfilled their part of the contract ???
Any help would be appreciated :)
