Seems you have resolved things a little. Lesson learned for the remortgage, but hope you don't lose out too much.
Absolutely, unfortunately we had our hands tied a bit when we took this mortgage out as we needed to stay with IF so we didn't have employers checks as DH had just given his notice in to become a SAHD and they wouldn't have given me a mortgage on my salary at the time, however by the time we get to remortgage we will be in a much better position.0 -
Just as I thought; fully in control0

Thanks for the tip about checking the Pureprofile site regularly I've had quiet a few surveys so far dh's account is almost up to it's payout amount.

I counted up Flossie (the mortgage sheep) over the weekend and now have £31 extra I have banked and transferred that brings this months OP to £85.
I have also opened a new fixed rate 1 year account for the OP I was going to send over (until the realised they will charge early repayment fee) with the AA at 7.21% in DH name as he is non-tax payer, this is great as the mortgage rate is 6.39%. So I have initially put £6,500 in, if I am still able to deposit more (depending whether the limited issue as been filled or not) when one of my current fixed rate accounts finished next month I add that aswel, so another £1,500 or so.
Am going to have to spend out unexpected on my car as some debris hit me on the motorway this morning and had damaged the wingmirror, scratched the windscreen and scratched and dented the bonnet and door. Not impressed. Luckily the windscreen didn't shatter though as it hit so hard.
Did an online Tesco order last night as well and managed to find a £5 off e-voucher and also utilised a few swaps as suggested by mysupermarket.co.uk - very good site and I get ipoints as well (although I notice it looks like Quidco will be introducing cashback soon). Should have enough in the order to last well past pay day next week now.
Will be plowing through all my other cashback, survey sites this evening to see if there are any others I can redeem. Seems much easier to find more than the initial £10 I budgeted when I started this diary and so much has changed in that time.
It looks like I have been given a pay rise as well, even though I'm on a fixed term contract (the system has given me one to bring me in line with the new pay scale), will find out when I'm paid on Monday next week if they have actually given it to me. I'll also be getting my expesnes paid from last month of aruond £50 so will OP this as not missed it, I've also had my new (correct) tax coding through so will hopefully get a slight tax rebate as they used the wrong codes twice for the last pay packets.0 -
Well Done on the payrise:money:0

You've a mixed bag news there! As you note the debris could have caused greater damage, or worse led to an accident, so it is good to hear you are safe. I guess it's the insurance excess you are paying?
The positive items are good to see, and I'll have to have another look at Quidco in the run-up to Christmas and the sourcing of presents.0 -

Quite scary at the time, but more anonyed about it now. Not sure if I'll be putting it through the insurance yet, will get a quote for it and go from there. The wing mirror electrics still work so looks like it will just need a casing hopefully, not sure about the rest of the damage.0 -
I thought now was a good time to review what I have done since May when we started thining about how to OP, so I have updated the first post to show current position and am pleased with what I see.0
