Well things have changed again slightly. Parents in law have told us that we don't have to pay them back, which is fantastic so any additional money can be used to replenish our savings and to OP in addition to having a bit more of a life over the next 3 years as we have had a really tight 18 months and we were being to get down a bit on it.

A job has come up in my team, which I'm going to apply for. I not realistically sure what my chances are of getting it, but if I do it would be an extra £9k a year which would make a huge difference to our journey. I'm going to do as much prep work as I can, but also keeping fingers crossed as well. I won't be too disappointed if I don't get it as I wasn't expecting to be in a position for promotion for another 6-12 months, but if it comes earlier who am I to turn away from the opportunity.

I need to find the best regular saver out there to start the saving replenishment and some general instant access savings accounts as the Birmingham Midshires ones we've got have quite poor rates now. I think our utilities are still the best other than about £15 a year, which I've decided aren't currently worth the effort of switching for. I'll keep my eyes open for better deals over the coming months, but staying put for the time being.

We have a few hundred £ still sat on 0% card, which I need to pay off in the next few months, but otherwise it should be plain sailing to getting back on the OP wagon and I can't wait to start seeing that mortgage balance start dropping again, i've been getting withdrawal symptoms not being able to send things over. Looking forward to getting back into the whole OPing swing again and catching up with others diaries.
