Can I accept an offer on eBay without waiting for auction to end?

Hi…I recently posted an item to ebay and set a minimum price of £40. I have received a query from someone offering to pay me £80 via paypal straight away for the product. Is there a way that he can buy this from me via ebay & I can accept his bid straight away & complete the sale, or do I have to wait until all bids are in?
I wouldnt like to withdraw this item from ebay either as I had to do that once in the past and would be worried about what impact this has on my record etc.
Thanks!

I had to withdraw 10 items off ebay due to a tin of paint being knocked over and i didn't have any repercussions so i'd say go for it,but don't make it a habit....:rotfl:0

what i tend to do if someone offers me a price that i would except.. and as long as there are no bids on the item... i change my listing and add a buy it now price which is the sum agreed....and tell the buyer that this is what i am doing...
so then i am not withdrawing it from ebay.. plus ebay are still getting their fees.. so no one loses out..
as if i am right ebay dont like you withdrawing your listings except if it is a genuine reason...and then if its only like a one off...
someone else might tell you a diff way of doing it...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Thanks....so does that mean I should edit my listing (and if so, where do I find the "buy it now" function, I couldnt locate this when I made the listing?)

Absolute rubbish
Ive done it probably 15 times in the last 6 months , if the itmes damaged or simply for sale elsewhere what are E-Bay going to do about it ?0 -
Your not meant to advertise in two places at once, but eBay don't want you to withdraw your item primarily because they will lose feesNothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

You are probably already on the ebay radar - My neighbour was selling cars via ebay, but also from his forecourt. He cancelled about 30 listings within a few months and received a selling restriction for his trouble.
You are stealing eBays Final Value Fees you heartless mongrel!!!! :rotfl:<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

Its not harsh
It`s the OPs personal view that ebay dont like it , not her personal experience , thats why it`s rubbish
And like i say ive done it countless times and heard nothing at all from e-bay , ever0 -
We strongly discourage sellers to end listings early because it undermines the trust buyers have in the eBay platform. eBay buyers are told that their bids are binding. Equally, buyers expect the auctions they bid on to conclude successfully.
