thx for all the advise. I have asked them to send the cheque again and will wait for another week before sending off the warning letter.
  • OMG, I joined tonight because I have exactly the same problem and am getting nowhere. Bulldog have owed me over £250 for over a year. I've complained to CISAS (the internet adjudication service) and Bulldog have told them they have refunded me - but they haven't! Is going to court now the only option?

Just write them a letter stating that you have not received it. Advise them to settle within 7 days or you'll have no option but to claim the money through the small claims court.

Send the letter recorded delivery & with any luck you'll get it.
  • Thanks, I'll try that!
  • Hi, well I am very lazy but I finally wrote them a letter in July threatening court action, sent by Special Delivery. No one replied! I then made a claim through moneyclaimonline. Bulldog for the first time ever responded quickly by saying they would contest the claim. I was a bit worried but held my nerve.

After this, no reply to the court claim so I requested a judgement by default - which means a judge decides they have to pay up as they have not contested the claim and made no defence. I waited a few days, then thought, sod it, I'll apply for a warrant of execution which means that if they don't pay up, bailiffs will arrive at their headquarters and start taking property. I sent them an email telling them this (as they are still pursuing me for payment for a line which, funnily enough, I cancelled ages ago and which they managed to disconnect within 4 days), copied it to the guy in the legal department (who originally said they would contest it) and lo and behold I get an email at 8.45am this morning telling me a cheque has been requested today and my account will be cancelled.

Basically, if they don't pay up, the bailiffs will take the some posh furniture and sell them on to pay me :T.

I have a letter from the legal dept saying they will stop my account. :T

And I asked for - and was awarded £465 - in compensation for time, distress and admin costs:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So even though this company are a NIGHTMARE, I think I've finally got them by the balls and am squeezing them very tightly!!!

I just dont wanna waste any penny on this stupid company
Obviously it is more important to you to keep your penny than to get back your activation fee. I for one respect your decision.
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?

well I have made a claim through moneyclaimonline but soon they disputed the whole amount I had claimed. It says on the MCO website that the case will be transferred to court and I have to wait.

don't know if I am unlucky or what. but it seems to be more complicated than I thought.
  • I'm really surprised by that....it'll cost them hundreds of pounds just to turn up to the court prepared!
  • Are you sure they haven't just sent an "Acknowledgement of Service"? They did that to me, disputed the whole amount but then didn't defend the case....

I've got the acknowledgment of service, which is a copy of the one which has been sent to Bulldog on 4th Aug. they've got 28days to reply so today is the deadline. should I ask the court to do something now?
