Regarding the lights - most landlords won't mind so long as you leave the replacements and they are fitting to the surroundings or if hte originals can be easily replaced without causing damage. Do ask though coz theoretically otherwise it is a breach of the tenancy and they could terminate it.

Much better than painting teh entire house black and red or leaving it full of dog poo - both of which has happened to me.

Absolutely not. I'm sweating up thinking about it! :rotfl:

However, if I can't find my way out I'm gonna go on a rampage and start smashing things. :p

Congrats on getting the flat:T, what is your provisional move in date? Register on moveme.co.uk or .com can't remember which. They have lists of things you need to do (not so useful if you are renting, is very buying focused but does have everything you will need to sort out) but they also send you a welcome pack with loo roll, teabags, binbags and stuff all for free (well I hope they do, I have registered with them after seeing them on the freebies board).

If you are going to IKEA:eek::D:eek: then I have a hint for you.

For bigger bits (ie stuff that you have to find in their aisle system) choose what you want to look at before you go and check the stock online so you are less likely to have a wasted journey.

I have been so many times when I have chosen what I want, turned up and where my lovely new purchase should be there is a gaping empty hole (also look in neighbouring shelves though as they don't always get it right, I once found something for a friend three aisles across from where it should have been)

Other than that take a deep breath, enter the hell (although I kind of like it:confused:) and may the force be with you.

Re ikea are you a family card member? If not get a card and you get money off & offers to preview eves...also mine has a preview for the sale on Weds so worth chceking whether yours do too as they have good money off & you get to it first as a "family" member (and no you dont have to have 3 kids to get a family card - or even 1 for that matter!!).
