    Gene - firstly I'm not having a go - but wouldn't it be easier to (if you can) go into the office with your file of paperwork etc?? I live in a city so its possible to do this - yes you can sit there for ages - but some things are just easier face to face?

    Had a phonecall. Been told we are getting £26 a week housing and no council tax benefit. Even though I am out of work.

    They say its because tax credits are so high. We are screwed with the rent :(

    surely your tax credits will be adjusted for your benefits? I know when hubby was off work they took away wtc and he recieved income support & incapacity.

    Though I can't comment on exact figures, it makes sense that you are not receiving full help if your partner is working.

    Could you provide us with some information on how much your partner earns, and how much WTC/ CTC you receive?
